Wanola Granola came to life in 2025 when I realized the granola I wanted didn’t exist: a blend that honors the nuanced flavors of Japan while delivering the comfort of an American classic.
Wa 和 means harmony, peace, and Japanese-style. It’s the philosophy behind everything I make – flavors that balance rather than compete, and tradition meeting modern taste. That’s why it’s in the brand name!
My first creation, Essential Matcha, pairs authentic Japanese matcha with kuromitsu, a dark syrup treasured in Japan for centuries. After countless test batches, I developed an in-house kuromitsu with the rich, complex flavors of molasses and caramel that doesn’t overpower the earthy matcha. The result? A subtly sweet, crunchy-yet-crumbly granola that keeps you reaching back into the bag.
